My brief is to create a Rock Music Magazine aimed at an audience of 16 to 25. I have chosen to focus on a niche audience by targeting female readers. My research shows that Rock Music Magazine usually have a target demographic of young males and feature some of the following conventions:
- Representations of young male artists (around the age of the target audience)
- Mise en Scene (especially costume hair and makeup) - aspirational for young males, rebellious, leather jackets etc.
- Low-Key lighting to emphasise aggressive/counter cultural facial expressions.
- Cover/Sell Lines - Brief and punchy, Sensationalist Language, Lists of Artists
- Strap Line suggesting noise, aggression,
- Priced at £5, in keeping with most magazines of its type.
- Front cover includes splashes with give-away offers etc. Posters, CD
